Who's Stopping You or What's Stopping You

Who's Stopping You or What's Stopping You

Hey dreamers or drifters. Welcome back to another dreaming post this subject just stuck to me i guess thats what happens when you have big dreams right?.. anyways you really don't wanna know where i'm typing from right now. Its Friday and for me it is "THE FRIDAY". Nothing special just glad to have a weekend spend it with Mom and dad and the family and of course catch up on some movies, very inspiring movies. In some of my posts later on, i will definitely share with you some of the inspiring film I love to watch but for now lets talk about the heading above.

OK. Let me get this right. You want to be something else in the future but your parents are holding you back? Maybe a dancer and they say thats not a real job. Or a singer but because you never sang to them they feel you are wasting your time, if thats not close how about you want to be a doctor but financial problems are holding you back from even sitting the CUT test. You want to be a pilot but there ain't no pilot schools near you and no scholarships for trainees so you sat back under a palm tree somewhere with the sand between you toes and watched

the aeroplanes fly above until it disapeared between the clouds imagining how the clouds and islands looked from up there.
Undeniably most of us kept on wishing on a falling star or even in broad daylight. I myself find myself repeating the words "I wish" every time something remind me of my dream job. Many obstacles are holding us back (No doubt about that) but some of the obstacles are barely necessary, some of the barriers holding us back involves with in our minds which evolves in our head.
Let me break it down for you according to my findings based on my costless research entitled "According to Myself" which i have been conducted ever since I know how to spell the word "Dream"....(lol!). No seriously.

What is Holding you back?
That is the significant question and always will be if you don't address it. Sometimes we have to make decisions that some people close to us will consider it as drastic or too mature. But hey everything is worth trying. And NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE TO A WILLING HEART.

Some factors holding you back can be:
- Distance
- Family
- Finance
- Illness
- Mindset
- Past experience
(Did i miss anything?)

Please allow me to elaborate.

Finance
Going to school is a burden to parents especially if you are a very sensitive teenager. Wanting too many things and peer pressure brings you down hard that you find your grade smiling back at you with the worst letters or figures in your life. Scholarships can be hard in this situation and you might turn to odd jobs to build a simple saving. The good thing is its never too late to learn and achieve your goal.
If what you want to achieve is way too expensive then there are people with money about but you have to be persuasive and show the new you and show why you are the better investment for them. People will be willing to invest a great sum on someone who displays the potential. Do short courses, get many experience and be involved in your goals, the wind will blow you to the people that pays this could be the solution to your financial problem.

Family
Families are the first people to support us or destroy our dreams. It doesn't mean your parents don't love you. Some parents just don't know when to take in the fact that you have to leave the nest and chase your goals. Have you seen the film 'Colledge Road Trip' its kinda like that. If your family is holding you back then you have to pursuade them why it is the best alternative for you. Show them what dream plan. But you must leave room for their complaints or comments because like it or not they are the first people to invest in you by paying your fees. So you gotta feel for them.

Distance
I like movies and i wish I'm a film director or actor but I'm from the pacific. There are little or no
opportunities for people with interests like mine. I search for advices in the web and one main
answer to make your goal come true is "I've got to get on Location". Location? Location? LA,
New York, America? England? Australia? It's far. Well this is not only for movie makers but other careers too. To find the right jobs you have to have the heart to move. Again slap me if im wrong but saying it is easy doing it is tough. If you think moving is tough then you have to change your mindset.

Mindset
Check out my earlier post on Changing you mindset. All i can say now about this is, ones mind is
strong which is why you have to have a plan and write down the reasons why this is important to you. And be sure to write down all the good that can come out of your goal once you have reached it. Every time if you feel down or discouraged don't take drastic actions and just QUIT. NO no way. Remind yourself you are not a quitter. Refer back to your goal plans and what you write to build your courage again. This works, by doing this you are building or adjusting your mindset. True success comes from people who fail. Somehow Failure is the best way to succeed.

Illness
This is a very tough factor because some genetic illnesses just won't heal thus causing a massive hit to your future dreams and goals. Or even a tragic accident can turn your whole life around. I'm no expert and i can't say i know what its like but thanks to Empathy I emerse myself in that world. What i find is although your dreams are shattered by an accident or illness its never too late to keep on dreaming and help others to achieve theirs by your experience. If you feel you can still do it then the only way is to train yourself to keep it going. The film Men of Honour is a good inspiring film or Soul Surfer or even the stroy of Ryan White. Dreams don't always turn out the way you want but the best part of life is to make other people realize what they have and be greatful. To put your footprints in the sands of time.

Inspiring films you've gotta watch!!

Past Experience
This factor is rough, depends on what experience a person has in the past. Some people from broken family did well in achieving their dreams because they do not want their child to have the same experience. Or they want a good life for their young sibling for example Oprah Winfry from her wikipedia you will find that she grew up in poverty and look at her now (billionaire i
see). Let your past be the way forward for you to the future. I believe in the words "To understand the future you have to revisit the past" coz what goes around comes around right?...
The solution is in your scars.

To conclude the bottom line is understand the factor that is holding you back or stopping you from achieving your dreams. Understand it. Deal with it. The final i like is "JUST GO WITH IT".
We've got one life to live make the most of it without hurting yourself and the ones close to you.Well i think Ive touched on everything Ive mentioned. Find your stepping stone in the factors to achieve your dreams.

Thanks for reading... Cheers!!
